First trip Posted May 27, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2018 I am looking at the Misty Fjords Excursion out of Ketchikan. It seems the later time slot you book the cheaper it is. Does anyone have an idea why that would be. Thank you in advance.
jimmieg Posted May 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2018 No idea. But took Randy at Mountain Air earlier this month and highly recommend over ship excursion. He"s local and does a landing in the middle of tour. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Forums mobile app

KruzPrincess Posted May 28, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2018 Just a guess, but maybe the earlier ones are more popular and close to full. I did a Misty Fjord afternoon cruise from A HAL ship and it was about 1/3 full. It was great because there was no problem getting rail space on either side. It was a ship excursion through Allen. It was one of my better excursions. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare Coral Posted May 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 28, 2018 Princess does this progressive/dynamic pricing. As the time slots fill up, the prices go up so the more popular times cost more.

We used her in 2010 and she was the highest rated guide then ~ she gave a fabulous tour. Loved Misty Fjords ~ can still imagine those beautiful views! :D
sherryf Posted May 28, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 28, 2018 A lot of cruise ships are only in Ketchikan for a short time in the morning, especially those sailing round trip for Seattle that need time to get to Victoria. Due to this, there would probably be more demand for flights earlier in the day, when there are more ships in port.
