You need some sort of data (4g or WiFi) to send a iMessage between iPhones.

From what I have read on these forums, ships that use the "old" Royal app will allow iMessage to work without purchasing the data plan.

This has never been reported to work on Oasis.

I know nothing about Symphony or Quantum or Ovation.

Didn’t work on oasis the first of last month, you had to have the WiFi package to use the RC app (not the Royal IQ app, oasis doesn’t use that one)

We had Voom on Oasis last month and could text to others with IPhones. If you want to text each other, both need Voom. We could also use FaceTime and what’s App.

Of course you can text if you both have internet access.

True, but that is not available on Oasis.
