Norway is there a need for bug spray when taking excursions.

Is there a need to use bug spray when taking excursions at the end of June ?. We will be visiting Stavanger, Skjolden, Hellesylt, Geiranger, Trondheim, Honningsvag, Gravdal, Alesund, Bergen.

It couldn’t hurt. It’s nowhere near Alaska, and normally I wouldn’t even think about it. But I just threw some in my purse this week, because I’ve been bitten more times this year than the last ten combined!

 

 

Depending on the weather and the particular area you’re in, it could be nice to have. Especially if you’re touring outside of towns.

I have never used bug spray in the ports you are mentioning. And never experienced any problems.

Certainly not.

We didn’t see any mosquitoes or ticks the first of June this year in Norway, and we did hike a little bit. If you really want to be careful, you could take the wipes instead of the spray.
