Boarding NCL Escape

Recommended Posts

On NCL ESCAPE out of NYC...can you carry your suit case onboard and go right to your room to drop it off..before getting lunch....Thanks Ann

Not that I'm aware of. We were on it this past week and we had to check our bags. Staterooms weren't ready until about 1:30pm. Not sure if Haven is different.

The ship kindly requests that you do NOT go to your room until invited by the Cruise Director. That is normally between 1:00 and 1:30.

What you can do is carry it with you to the buffet area or to the MDR.

If going to the buffet, you can have the other partner watch over the luggage, while one get the food and s/he will go after.

Cabin staterooms are not really until they make an announcement, usually between 1-1:30 pm.

Doors/hallways to the cabin would be locked.

We usually go to our cabin and drop off our carry on bags. The stewards have always been good with it ... however, please note that your cabin is not secured during turnover.

Please don't. Of course, they will ACT like they are good with it but think about it, the turnover day is pretty much a tornado of activity. Respect their schedules, which are beyond hectic, stay away until it's time to let the new guests in to their cabins. Last cruise on the Epic hallway doors were closed off to the guests.

No need to do that with carry-on luggage. When you are boarding just ask where you can drop it off at, NCL ships have those facilities. Just as one example, on the Epic it was Headliners comedy club. I'm sure other good folks here can chime in with what other ships have.
