JenniX Posted June 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2018 I am sailing in a balcony on carnival magic Sept 30. I saved $130, any my mother in a spa balcony saved $242. My balcony has dropped again, only $20, but hey it adds up. Her rate had actually increased. Keep checking your prices, every penny helps.

Nothing like back in 2013 when we received over $1400 in OBC on a single Spa Balcony cabin.

JenniX Posted June 17, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Good gravy, I was happy for $20. I think I would have to learn how to do back flips if I saved $1400. shearwood Posted June 17, 2018 #8 Share Posted June 17, 2018 how does the price drop work , over here in the uk we have to book via the usa site now not the uk one, so we would now have the same terms and conditions
txmom11 Posted June 17, 2018 #9 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Ours dropped $10 each and had $25 in OBC for the deal as well. I'll take $45 for a later than normal booking.

For full disclosure this was after the infamous Poop Cruise when Carnivals prices took big drops for a short period of time. After we finished that cruise we were able to book s cruise for 2014 with even better accommodations for a better price.
JenniX Posted June 17, 2018 Author #11 Share Posted June 17, 2018 I do dummy bookings with the same rate, room, and deck. Whenever I find it cheaper I call carnival, and they refund me the difference. how does the price drop work , over here in the uk we have to book via the usa site now not the uk one, so we would now have the same terms and conditions

dmet0225 Posted June 18, 2018 #14 Share Posted June 18, 2018 We have three staterooms booked on the Glory. They were booked a year ago. JenniX Posted June 18, 2018 Author #15 Share Posted June 18, 2018 I tried to get them to just put the difference as obc, but they said they could only refund it back to my card. My mother still has a balance, so the $242 they just removed from her remains balance. We have three staterooms booked on the Glory. They were booked a year ago. candctroll Posted June 22, 2018 #23 Share Posted June 22, 2018 We don't leave till July 10. Our entire ship has been sold out for weeks and balconies for 4 sold out months ago. No chance at a price drop for us. :(
RRLLAL Posted June 22, 2018 #24 Share Posted June 22, 2018 we just had a $100 drop today. we've had a total of $716 in drops since we booked our 14 day Panama Canal cruise for May 27 2019.
Dremac373 Posted June 26, 2018 #25 Share Posted June 26, 2018 When viewing the price drop is the cruise line considering the fare rate before or after port fees and taxes to be considered the difference as an actual "drop"
