OutKast Posted January 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2006 I know this is kind of a simple question, but can you get bottled water on the boats? Is it free or is it part of the soda card? I will be traveling on the Oosterdam. Thanks!
doone Posted January 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2006 Yes, you can purchase bottled water onboard the ship and no, its not part of the soda card.
OutKast Posted January 4, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted January 4, 2006 It's not free? Does anyone know how much?
kakalina Posted January 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2006 It costs the same as soda, about $1.75 each. Why do you need bottled water? The ships water is as pure a water as you'll ever want to find.:)
OutKast Posted January 4, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted January 4, 2006 I perfer bottled water - even at home. It's nice to have on hand and in the room. Thanks for your replies
elmorejj Posted January 4, 2006 #6 Share Posted January 4, 2006 There will be 2x1 litre bottles in your cabin for purchase. They are $2 each and will be added to your bill if you use them. When leaving the ship, there will be a steward selling half litres at the gangway, $1.50 per.........jean:cool:
dhcoaster Posted January 5, 2006 #7 Share Posted January 5, 2006 The potable water onboard cruise ships is distilled. Save money and take a bottle onboard and keep filling it up!
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 5, 2006 #8 Share Posted January 5, 2006 And don't forget that a 15% gratuity will also be added onto your bill every time you buy a bottle of water.
sobore Posted January 5, 2006 #9 Share Posted January 5, 2006 Any issue with brining your own bottled water other than the obvious weight issue?
bdmarine Posted January 5, 2006 #10 Share Posted January 5, 2006 You can also purchase bottled water at any bar. Because of the weight problem, I always bring my own dehydrated water in my suitcase (just add water, mix, and drink).
karolm Posted January 5, 2006 #11 Share Posted January 5, 2006 Last year on a Carnival Cruise I bought a case of water at Walgreens near the cruise terminal. I taped Carnival`s luggage tag to it and checked it in with my suitcases. It was in the room before I was. Carol M
akur23 Posted January 5, 2006 #12 Share Posted January 5, 2006 Any issue with brining your own bottled water other than the obvious weight issue? Nope! We brought a case on our last 10 day cruise (4 people) and had no problems other than carrying it in. We only used them on port days, though, as the ship's water was fine. I plan on doing the same next cruise. I rather have my own (and much cheaper) on port days. ;)
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 5, 2006 #13 Share Posted January 5, 2006 We never buy bottled water. I always bring collapsible platapuses with us. If we know that we are going to be on a long excursion, I just fill them with the ship's water.
niteshade1312 Posted January 6, 2006 #14 Share Posted January 6, 2006 I never take bottled water, and I think it's stupid to have to pay for it as well!
