Excursion Cancelled When On Board

We are cruising next week. It looks like a high chance of thunderstorms and wind at all three ports. If you paid for Carnival gift cards, do you add the refunded excursion fee to your sign and sail card so you can choose another excursion? Do you have time to find another excursion?

We had a Carnival excursion cancelled on our last cruise due to not enough people signing up for it. It was booked with a credit card, and instead of putting it back on the card they gave it to us as OBC. We didn't find out it was cancelled until the evening before the port stop. They had even left the tickets in our cabin that morning. I guess we had time to plan something else, but would have had to do it quickly. We just ended up spending the day in port shopping and eating lunch.

We had this happen on our last cruise..it was pouring buckets when we got to Cozumel and we were supposed to go La Isla Passion via Twister boat. Carnival did not cancel the excursion but when we checked in with Antonio (I think that was his name) outside of Fat Daddy's (which is where they always check in..we've done this excursion about 10 times now I think), he said that we had the option of cancelling since it was pouring buckets. We just took our tickets back to the Shore Excursions desk once we got back on board after doing some shopping and they gave it to us as OBC, which was fine.

We had a Carnival excursion at Grand Turk cancelled a couple of years ago. It was the submarine one and there had been a storm and the water was cloudy. They let us know the afternoon before, we had time to book another, but chose to shop and hang out at the beach. They gave us a refund as OBC, although we had paid with a credit card. Which was fine, our sail & sign was attached to the same card, so made no difference, just took some off the room charges.

Happy thoughts to you for sunny skies!!

We had just gotten to Amber Cove, had an excursion booked, because there was nothing at the dock area, due to a storm nearby, they decided to cut the stop short and cancel most of the excursions, so we ended up getting our money back and took the pedicab to the shopping area, looked around and went back to the ship, it started raining and we left.

We had an excursion paid for with gift cards that was cancelled on our last cruise. They gave it to us as OBC, which we were then able to use to book another excursion.

If it cancels prior to your cruise, they will mail you a new gift card for the amount.

(@ cantwait2setsail) But what everyone is saying is that it doesn't matter how you pay, a cancelled excursion gets credited to your S&S account. But we actually had to cancel an excursion ourselves on our last cruise for personal reasons and it was paid for by Gift Cards....and the refund was credited to our S&S account.

OP yes you may be able to book another excursion IF there is time to get there and IF there are any openings left. We canceled our excursion at about 10:15 that morning and it may have been possible to book another one that was starting later....I think...unless Carnival automatically shuts off booking all excursions for that day in port. I can't really say if they do that or not.
