Beach close to pier?

we will be in Puerto Rico from 10am - 5pm. I am wondering if there is a beach we can take a can to since we are there for a bit longer. I know it might be a little further away but wondering if anyone has done this and might have suggestions

We went to Isla Verde. It was about a 20 minute cab ride. Maybe cost $25.00 each way? It was beautiful. Get there early to get chairs and umbrellas. $20 for 2 chairs and 1 umbrella.

Specifically at the end of Tartak street in Isla Verde. If I'm not mistaken it's the only place you can rent chairs and umbrellas in that area. Be weary of the beach behind the Marriott Stellaris. They offer a very convenient Day Pass but that beach is basically open water with rough waters and rip currents. As recently as a few weeks ago a man drowned just there. There is a beach about a mile from the dock, Playa Escambron, but it does not have any amenities at all. Isla Verde beach has a natural reef about half a mile off which makes for consistently calmer water.

You can also Uber - that's what we did when we were in PR. Cheaper than taxis, nicer drivers and MUCH nicer cars!!
