Leaving Saturday for Miami for the 1-8-06 cruise on the Valor to the Western Caribbean...what should we make sure that we do (or don't do)? Places on the ship we shouldn't miss...helpful hints or tips. All input will be greatly appreciated.

The address of a liquor/wine store near the Marriott Courtyard would also be helpful!

If you type the Marriott's address into mapquest there will be a button on top of the map that says "What's neareby?" You can select from a list such as malls, stores, nightclubs, etc. and it give you a list with names nearby along with the distance.

Check it out - its a great planning tool.

My other suggestion is do as much as you can while on your vacation - you can always sleep when you get home.

Have a great trip.

A liquor store we found near the airport was open but when you tried to open the door you had to ring a buzzer and then they let you in after they saw what you looked like.. The man came around to the front and took a peek.. LOL

It was kinda weird, a saturday night, early evening..

I got my booze and ran....

LOL:)

Make sure you spend some time with "Ron" at the piano bar for a great time. :D Fish and chips upstairs at Rosies is a must! You will have a great time! We just did E. Carribean Dec 18 - 25 first cruise and will def. cruise again! Embarkation was hideous took 2-3 hours. Nothing to do with carnival there are only two xray machines avail. to check carryon and that is the port of Miami's fault. I think if you can get there earlier it would be better I think we arrived at about 1:00pm. Have a great time!

We were on the Valor in May of last year and had a blast in the Western Caribbean.

You definately do not want to miss out on the dining experience at Scarletts. It was the best $60.00 (for 2 people) we spent on the ship. The meal consisted of 11 courses over a 2 1/2 hour period. You can order Steak, Lobster, and Surf and Turf. It was the best dining we experienced on any cruise.

The best excursion we did was The Combination Tour in Grand Cayman. It consisted of a tour of the island, the Turtle Farm, the Village of Hell, and Stingray Sandbar. Everyone in our group thought this was the highlight of the trip.

I am also including how to make deck plan cards that can fit behind your sail and sign cards...this will make it easier to navigate the ship.

Mine is set up by floor, from Forward to Aft. All you need to do is put the following in a Microsoft Word document. Format in: Normal 8pt bold: Times New Roman: 8pt and divide into four equal columns. Trim the excess paper and fold in half, and then laminate it. It will be about the size of a credit card. Where I have placed a line means go to next column.
