Civitivecchia - Restaurants

Recommended Posts

We've been through Civitavecchia on a few occasions but have never stayed there before, something that will change on our next cruise. Staying at the Hotel San Giorgio and wondering if anyone has any recommendations for restaurants close by. Any comments concerning the hotel's restaurants? Also, any thoughts on somewhere close by to pick up some wine.

Thanks in advance.

Been to Civitavecchia couple of times, and tried out a few different restaurants. One of our favorites is "Ristorante Pizzeria da Baffone". Nothing fancy, few steps away from San Giorgio*. Good Italian food.

* They really need to renovate the rooms soon..

Try the Gambero Rosso just off the Piazza Antonio Fratti. It’s very close to the San Giorgio. Go up the street at the town side of the hotel, take the first left which brings you out in Piazza Antonio Fratti. Turn right once you are in the main square & you’ll find the Gambero Rosso. We had a lovely meal there last week.
