Whimsy Posted July 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2018 I am trying NCL for the first time. I am not sure what they call the ships daily newspaper, does anyone have any copies they could share? Just wanting an idea of what goes on during sea days. Any don't miss suggestions? Also, do they have comedian shows, other entertainers? I seen the production show line up, sounds great, just wondering what else we will be able to see. Looking forward to our first time! Counting down the final days! ClarkBHM Posted July 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2018 The best way to find these is a forum search for "Dawn dailies". https://boards.cruisecritic.com/search.php?searchid=133904215 Some were posted in June on this thread: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2640298&highlight=dawn+dailies Just go down to message #10. No daily paper with the ships activities? How did passengers know what was going on?
Sand and Seas Posted August 4, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2018 Just went on the Dawn to Bermuda 7/20-7/27/18 they didn't have a daily paper. Great cruise. That's very strange. We are about to go on our 31st cruise with NCL and there has always been a daily delivered to our cabin each evening. It lists the next days activities, hours venues will be open, and usually includes some pages about spa, shopping or laundry specials.
umpisoccer Posted August 4, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 4, 2018 You are talking about the Dallies that list all of the ship activities. The June 2018 Dallies are listed above. (PDF format) Sent from my SM-G935V using Forums mobile app
chtx82 Posted August 4, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2018 I was on the Dawn July 20-27 and there were definitely papers delivered every day.

chtx82 Posted August 4, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 4, 2018 We had a lot of fun, but we don't go to the shows or any of those type of things. When we cruise, we're mostly on the ship to relax, walk around, and sometimes visit the casino a little. We found all of the employees to be wonderful. O'Sheehan's was probably our favorite free place to eat, but we don't do MDRs at all. The Java Cafe was quick, even when there was a long line. And their lattes were pretty good (I get mine iced with extra espresso and vanilla.) I will try to take pics of the dailies and upload them, but have not done well at uploading in the past... my files are always too large.
Sand and Seas Posted August 4, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 4, 2018 Dawn shopping questions- Did you see Citizen watches 'on sale'? Did you see the Gold/Silver by the Inch available more than one day? (The link to the dailies above had them on Day 7.) I have a lot of OBC to spend and just not sure how much shopping is available on the Dawn. I don't want to wait until the last day and have unused non-refundable OBC. meglet Posted August 4, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 4, 2018 Didn't see Citizens - they made a big deal about the Invicta watches. Probably best to get an idea of good prices ahead of time. One of the TV shopping networks is big into Invicta if you're curious. Only saw the gold by the inch on one day.

I'll be watching for the one day gold by the inch as I've enjoyed the bracelets I've had made in the past. Invicta just isn't my style, but I'll figure out a way to use that OBC.....another first world problem!;)

Thank you for posting that! I love the Citizen Eco-Drive watches. This could be a good use for that OBC. Now I can scout it out early in the cruise and see if they have something I am interested in then watch for the 'sale'......if there is one. umpisoccer Posted August 4, 2018 #16 Share Posted August 4, 2018 You could also use your on board credit to purchase cruise next certificates. We used $500 obc from our last cruise to get $1000 to use on future NFL cruises. Great deal. Sent from my SM-G935V using Forums mobile app

newmexicoNita Posted August 5, 2018 #18 Share Posted August 5, 2018 Just went on the Dawn to Bermuda 7/20-7/27/18 they didn't have a daily paper. Great cruise. I am guessing the OP meant the daily bulletin: Freestyle daily. Most think of that as a daily newspaper.
