Rare A&L_Ont Posted July 20, 2018 Author #277 Share Posted July 20, 2018 We are off the the Animal Sanctuary, the second leg of the day. We grabbed lunch in Anchorage. A few pics from downtown that caught my eye. They must be related to the Jewlers of the Caribbean. An the view right now from the bus window. LadyBeBop Posted July 20, 2018 #279 Share Posted July 20, 2018 Question of the day asked by someone on our bus..... Can you seen the northern lights right now? Good lord, it’s the land of the midnight sun. I so wanted to give the Captain Obvious answer and I didn’t. ....which is why we booked the last Alaska cruise of 2019. Northern Lights is on my bucket list. Still no guarantee. But...

barbeyg Posted July 21, 2018 #285 Share Posted July 21, 2018 You mentioned renting a car to drive to Seward. We did that. The rental place was right by the dock, and they dropped us back at the ship. We had it 2 nights, and booked it the fall before the cruise. Paid less than half what people paid the year of the cruise. Tip: book early. [emoji846] We loved driving down, stopping where we wanted. Highly recommend. [emoji1360] Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare A&L_Ont Posted July 21, 2018 Author #286 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Last leg to the ship. And the scenery looks like this. I will let you know when we get to the ship. The land tour has been awesome but we all know how great the ship can be.

PhoenixCruiser Posted July 21, 2018 #289 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Wow, you are really seeing a lot of wildlife. Love the Lucy update - she was just lonely and wanted some company. That was nice of your neighbor to drive her home.

rkkunk Posted July 21, 2018 #298 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Whew okay, I was a little afraid of what your proof for the Order of Alaska Walrus would be. Hey, did I notice a piano in that room floor plan? Will we be given the privilege of another piano scope? That was so much fun! We took the same picture with our son under the antlers at the animal sanctuary. Love it! Hope that you can get a little rest now. Hard to do on an Alaska cruise. So much to see and do! Rare A&L_Ont Posted July 21, 2018 Author #299 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Dinner was great. No pics to show but I can share what I had. I had the lentil soup, shared the warm mozzarella wrapped with prosciutto, shared the mushroom risotto and consumed the beef tenderloin. I do have the view from the table though. Embarkation went very smooth. They did have a line for suite guests and someone from the building greeted the suite guests. They asked us if we had been sick, we did not have to do the paper survey. That was new to us. I’m done for the night.mmi wish you all a peacefully night. See you hopefully tomorrow.
