Tonimarieb Posted July 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Starting to plan for next year’s cruise. What’s your favorite ship and why? We have cruise on Ecstasy,Sensation,Breeze and Magic. Loved all the amenities of the Breeze and preferred it over the Magic as it was way less smokey. Also loved the Sensation as it never felt crowded. For the next cruise debating between Sunshine(serentity deck looks amazing) or trying the new Horizon....
Victory.Feb.29,2008. Posted July 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Victory (married on her) Breeze ( daughter's wedding) Miracle (love the theme and over the top decor). I have 17 cruises on Carnival..
Joebucks Posted July 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2018 I have only been on a few Carnival ships so far: Liberty, Victory, and Fascination. Each had its pros and cons. Out of those 3, I'd have to say the Victory. Perfect amenities vs size. Loved the serenity area. I also have the Sensation and Dream booked. I have a feeling the Dream will be my new favorite. ToriB Posted July 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2018 I would say Sunshine and Horizon are my favorites. The serenity deck on the Sunshine is the best. I love to sit behind the waterfall with coffee or hot cocoa. We were on the Horizon’s third sailing ever. It’s a beautiful ship and has all of the upgrades. The crew was outstanding. Our cruise was port extensive so we didn’t get to enjoy the ship as much as we would have liked. We booked it again for January! A&Jfamily Posted July 18, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Sunshine! She is the right size at 3K passengers with TONS of options from Havana and Alchemy Bar, Cucina, JiJi's, Bonsai and Steakhouse. The has a wonderful Serenity deck and I actually like the smaller, more intimate comedy club. The sportssquare for the kids is huge. Hope Triumph looks just like her when she comes out in April! Tonimarieb Posted July 18, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Definitely leaning toward the Sunshine. Port Canaveral is my favorite and like the itinerary. Have not visited Aruba and it’s been on my list.
evandbob Posted July 18, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Used to be any Conquest class ship, I really didn't differentiate among them except for the over the top garish Valor (but I sailed the Valor 7 times for itinerary, usually western, and price). Then I graduated to the Dream class, and really liked all 3 ships. Now that I've sailed the Vista and Horizon, I really, really like both of those. Otherwise, my fav Carnival ship is the one I can get a casino premier or ultra fare on, excepting the Ugh! Fantasy class oldies. JMO, YMMV. flounder315 Posted July 18, 2018 #10 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Any ship that I'm on is my favorite ;p Carnival Celebration, Jubilee, Elation, Conquest, Ecstasy x 2, Triumph x 12, Magic x 3, Miracle (Alaska) Freedom x 7, Breeze x 4, Liberty, & Valor x 2 =
disneylover89 Posted July 18, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Right now the Sensation is my favorite. That may change in August though.
Jgilbert813 Posted July 18, 2018 #12 Share Posted July 18, 2018 The Breeze is my favorite - DW and I both really liked the décor (easy beach feel) and I loved the Ocean Plaza area.
clearwatergirl Posted July 18, 2018 #13 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Have sailed on the Paradise, Legend, Miracle, Glory, Liberty, Sunshine, Breeze and Magic. Sunshine was my least favorite as the deck plans felt too chopped up and the comedy club was a joke with obstructed views and terrible seating. Conquest class had it's challenges with broken up deck plans as well. Have sailed Paradise numerous times and would say comes in second after the Spirit class. (Legend and Miracle). Looking forward to sailing on the Horizon next January. That may change my mind.
jsglow Posted July 18, 2018 #14 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Definitely leaning toward the Sunshine. Port Canaveral is my favorite and like the itinerary. Have not visited Aruba and it’s been on my list. That cruise is high on our bucket list before she heads off to Charleston. The only negative is a Friday departure. That MAY push us off to the FLL ship running the same route with one extra port, currently served by Conquest and later Magic. One of the things I truly love about Sunshine is that the very best Serenity deck in the fleet allows one to forgo the balcony and keep costs down. scoobikins Posted July 18, 2018 #15 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Been on the Ecstasy, Triumph, Valor and Freedom. I like the size and layout of the Conquest class, and the décor of the Ecstasy. Yes, it's loud and over the top and some might even call it garish, but I liked it. It's bright and fun. Maybe because it was my first cruise? Will be trying out the Dream in May, and the Glory in October '19. Maybe one of those ships will become my favorite.
siestakeys04 Posted July 18, 2018 #16 Share Posted July 18, 2018 The liberty is my favorite ship so far had a great time with my first balcony and sailing on her again Sunday. I live in NC and looking at trying the Sunshine out of Charleston next year.

2Shoes2Go Posted July 18, 2018 #18 Share Posted July 18, 2018 We've sailed them all except for Imagination, Spirit, and Horizon. DH refuses Horizon after sailing Vista, even in an OS. Our favorite is Fantasy; all about the officers, crew and size. We love Mobile, too.
jayscore Posted July 18, 2018 #19 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Being I don't feel the need for all the extra distractions, I say the Spirit Class ships suite me just fine. ;)
jsglow Posted July 19, 2018 #20 Share Posted July 19, 2018 Interested in a true opinion as we generally like smaller ships. Have they done a nice job modernizing the best of the Fantasy Class ships? Perhaps the Ecstasy or similar upgraded boat. Personally I think Carnival could do well with one or two of those on longer, more specialized cruises. Drose716 Posted July 19, 2018 #21 Share Posted July 19, 2018 Dream. I've been on multiple Fantasy class, Triumph class, conquest class, splendor class, dream class & visita class. I just loved the layout of the Dream class. I loved the Visita. But it felt different & bland. I'm still hooked on the Horizon next year. I just loved Dream more & cant wait to sail Magic next month. MediumB Posted July 19, 2018 #22 Share Posted July 19, 2018 I’ve only been on Holiday, Fantasy, Conquest and Spirit class ships so far and without a doubt the Spirit class ship the Legend wins out and that was before its recent drydock for the Funship 2.0 upgrades. Perfect size ship and has the enchanted forest that most people never find
Cinders411 Posted July 19, 2018 #23 Share Posted July 19, 2018 Have sailed on the Sensation, Inspiration, Paradise, Ecstasy, Dream and Vista. Hands down favorite was, The Dream. Fabulous spa with thalassotherapy pool, Punchliner show in Burgundy Lounge, Guy's Burgers, BlueIguana breakfast burritos, and it never really felt crowded. Nice open spaces on that ship. sgttami Posted July 19, 2018 #24 Share Posted July 19, 2018 I've been on Splendor, Sunshine and Pride and my new favorite is Pride. Easy to navigate, smaller ship and I don't have to fly to cruise Carnival in the winter. I do miss the NY sailings during winter months but Baltimore is an easy ride too. Have they done a nice job modernizing the best of the Fantasy Class ships? Perhaps the Ecstasy or similar upgraded boat. Personally I think Carnival could do well with one or two of those on longer, more specialized cruises. The Fascination is basically doing this. She is updated and currently in the island hopper slot out of San Juan to St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Barbados and St. Maarten and there are a ton of people that refuse to take the cruise because it is a Fantasy class ship. I did not mind it because we could get a balcony, and we were so busy with shore excursions, that it wasn't a big deal to not have the food variety. But even I , who don't need bells and whistles, would prefer something like the Sunshine when I have more sea days.
