ctnurse Posted August 26, 2018 #26 Share Posted August 26, 2018 Is using the certificates to book a suite or Haven new? If so, are you allowed to use two certificates to book a suite or Haven category since these cabins are "technically" a balcony?

Call NCL CruiseNext at 1-866-234-7350 and provide your Latitudes number and certificate number that you wish to transfer (remember it is purchased to a individual's account, not a cabin number), as well as the name and Latitudes number of where you would like the certificate to be moved. I was offered four $250 credits for $500, but had to forfeit the OBC to get that deal.

When you book you give them your latitudes number and make sure you mention the certificate. They should arrange it for you, but make sure they apply both certificates if appropriate (I have seen a few people mention this not happening automatically). My guess is that you won't be able to do it online with many travel agents.

Sup_Devil Posted June 13, 2019 #34 Share Posted June 13, 2019 Does anyone know how long it will take to be credited back the cruisenext certificates after canceling a cruise?? NCLGirl2013 Posted June 13, 2019 #36 Share Posted June 13, 2019 Can a first time cruiser use a CruiseNext voucher that was transferred from someone else? For example, I have cruised multiple times and have CruiseNext vouchers. My mom and I are both booked for Dec for the Encore in separate balcony rooms with separate bookings. She and her husband have never cruised NCL before but when I log into their account I think I see a latitudes number ( it says Guest Number though?) and they are showing as First Timers. vs My best friend is going on the same cruise but booked an inside cabin. She has a latitudes number from the early 2000's that does not have nay "credit" on it (she didn't call in the 12 month time frame to get cruises added to her latitudes account but they still show her info as a past passenger?) Could either my best friend or my mom use a transferred Cruise Next voucher?
NCLGirl2013 Posted June 15, 2019 #37 Share Posted June 15, 2019 So I called NCL and actually my step dad (whose is booked with my mom) actually cruised with NCL waaaay back in the day and he is still considered a Latitudes member and same with my best friend. They both cruised in like late 90s to early 2000s so I will keep looking for some vouchers to buy for them

That's part of the whole reason they are transferable so is you can buy them and give them to friends and family to use potentially even to take their first cruise... schildiams Posted June 16, 2019 #41 Share Posted June 16, 2019 (edited) I will be sailing on the 29th and want to purchase 4 on board to apply to two upcoming cruises (the promo for double up ends the 30th.) Will I be able to get this accomplished before the double up promo ends? I already have them booked but well outside cancel period so can cancel and book on board if necessary. You may be able to purchase AND have them applied while on board but I wouldn't count on it unless you're willing to cancel/rebook your existing reservation and letting the Cruise Next people treat it like a new one. Typically the Cruise Next Certs don't show up in your Latitudes account until a few days/week after the end of your existing cruise.

Odds are they will keep extending the Double Up promo. I have been using two certificates per cruise since at least Feb 2017 and booking four cruises each year. I noticed that the information that CruiseNext team hands out on board refers to using two certificates and doesn't state an end date.

The CN certs do not show up in your account until after your cruise is over. You can apply them as partial payments once your are home. 1 for sure and 2 if the promo is still on. Can you buy 5, 6 or 7 at $125 apiece? You cannot buy them at $125. They cost $250 but if you buy two they give you $250 OBC. If you buy 4 they charge you $1000 and give you $500 OBC. I just found the actual terms online. Free $500 OBC when you buy 4 $250 credits Free $375 OBC when you buy 3 $250 credits Free $250 OBC when you buy 2 $250 credits Free $100 OBC when you buy 1 $250 credit You can buy $500 credits for Haven and suites but the OBC is the same, for instance Buy 4 pay $2000 get $500 OBC. waterbhoy Posted August 8, 2019 #47 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Ok . Here is the definitive explanation on Cruise Next deposits if you buy 1 deposit . ( 250$) . it is charge to your room account as 250 USD that evening of purchase the next day you look at your cabin statement and you see a charge of 250$ . CruiseNext below you will see a Non Refundabale On Board Credit worth 100$ . So you have been charged on paper only 250$ but your credt card upon completion of the cruise will be charged 150$ . The hundred dollar on board credit is just like an instant rebate. Your CC is never charged 250 . In essence your paying 150$ towards a cruise but getting 250 off the price. You are not getting and extra 100 of OBC to go a spend towards your fun in the shops casino or restaurants. Its just accounting to show that yes you were charged initially 250 for the deposit but your final tally will be 150$ Value of Deposits . Net Spend 250 (1) 150 500 (2) 250 750 (3) 375 1000 (4) 500 1500 (6) 750 2000 (8) 1000 Another thing . if you are thinking about buying these and you cruise every year and you buy 1 at a time....your losing out. you are not saving money. the Best practice is to Spend 250 and take the 500 CND ( minimum) . it has only cost you 250$ Buying 1 every cruise costs you 150 and if you do it again on your next voyage later the same year or the following year you do another 250 and are charged 150.....add it up for buying 1 at a time you spend 300 bucks for the same benefit as spending 250 and getting the same deposit. Only difference is you bought it a year later..... If you are doing this and sailing in Balconies you are losing out on saving 250. better in my experience to take the 2 deposit for 250 and use them on a balcony over taking a 1 CND and saving a 100$ there and then . it costs you more in the long run Hope that helped with some of the questions and scenarios about how the CND works OnBoard Credit is a marketing invention it is essentially buy 1 get 1 and so on

Just tell your agent your certificate number that you would like applied to your new cruise, and they will take care of the rest. You CAN redeem online. I just did it with a cruise for Alaska. You should see the certificates in your account and when you go to make a down payment or any payment, one of the options is to use the certificates. It listed both of mine and I was able to apply to my booking. All done on the NCL website.
