Suite Upgrade possible?

I've heard all about the upgrade fairy but has she ever upgraded anyone from a balcony to a suite?

 

Is it worth a shot asking one week from cruising?

No way, from a balcony to a suite. The upgrade fairy isn't around that much anymore, so if you want that suite, you will have to go via an upsell, which means you will have to pay the full difference in price between what your cabin costs and the cost of the suite. Also, since ships are sailing full, and suites are the cabins booked first, I doubt you'll even find one availabe for an upsell.

Just wanted to let you know there really is an upgrade fairy...we are leaving this Sun. on the Carnival Victory. We booked two cabins, a balcony for DH & I, and an OV for our grown children, through Carnival. We were upgraded to a Cat. 11 Suite on the same deck....never asked for it.

If you want to be upgraded to a suite I would suggest booking the highest balcony category as a guarantee.

On the Sapphire Princess we were the highest category of the Mini-suite and we got upgraded at no addtional cost to a suite so hey sometimes there is a upgrade fairy.:D

Anyone out there know how you can tell if you have been upgraded before you get your docs?
