Ereggae Posted July 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2018 I have read numerous reviews regarding how expensive it was to explore Bermuda via taxi. Bermuda has a very efficient public transportation system, which is very inexpensive. The links below will help you navigate places of interest you may want to visit on your own. Also, there is an app called Hitch Bermuda, their version of Uber/Lyft General Info https://www.gotobermuda.com/ Ferry Schedule http://www.marineandports.bm/Documen...ule%202018.pdf Bus Schedule https://www.gov.bm/bus-routes-and-maps

njhorseman Posted July 28, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 28, 2018 (edited) Don't know about smiley but I do. What is the best way to St. George on Sunday afternoon? Thanks Assuming your starting point is the Royal Naval Dockyard, take the Blue Route ferry to Hamilton, walk from the Hamilton ferry terminal to the bus terminal and then take a #1, 3, 10 or 11 bus to St. George. This will take up to 90 minutes each way excluding waiting time for buses and ferries . Please note that bus and ferry service on Sunday is more limited than on weekdays. Alternatively a taxi for 1-4 passengers will cost about $95 (including the Sunday fare surcharge) plus tip each way. You could also take the ferry to Hamilton and then a taxi to St. George, but that taxi ride will still be very expensive. Unless you have a specific need or reason to go on Sunday I don't recommend it. Too much travel time or too much cost and too little open there on Sundays except some restaurants. If you're taking bus and ferry by the time you get there it will be almost time to return in order to catch the last ferry back to Dockyard. Thanks, that’s the problem with our ship it docks at 2 on Saturday and leaves at 3 on Sunday. I know it’s harder to get around (or more $$) I’d love to do some more sightseeing. As of now we are planning Horseshoe bay beach both days? Kids loved it last year.

Will try to get in for golf that evening otherwise to much sun for me. Also heard of a place indoors near by this for kids. Will need to look it up again. Heading to Hamilton early Monday for the Ocean Centre which has within walking distance from the ferry dock about 15/20 mins. then work our way to the Zoo, back to the ferry and return to the Dockyard for Monday night festivities. Destination Dockyard every Monday through the summer. Just do a Google search for Destination Dockyard to get information on this event. The hours are 7-10pm and it is a free public event.
