Wennfred Posted January 14, 2006 #51 Share Posted January 14, 2006 We take our Cell phones with us and keep them put away for a week also, but if we can call out we would call to see how our 2 Beagles are doing, the call would be made from the Cabin and quickly. chris2597 Posted January 14, 2006 #52 Share Posted January 14, 2006 I dont agree with everything Dave said (I would discontinue my trip if the situation warranted), but some of what he says has merit, people act horribly while on a phone. I think the worst is when they have an ear piece in (blue tooth??) and go along talking madly.....and the accidents that have happened due to using a cell. We will take our cell phone and check on the kids when service is available (or call from a pay phone in port, if cell use charge is too high), there is also the internet cafe....I will not take my phone out of the cabin for any other reason. I read on the Cingular website that text messaging is available and even more affordable. If I read it correctly....you can recieve text free and are only charged if you send a text. I buy cruise insurance for many reasons but one of the reasons is for trip interruption.
