kentuckysailor Posted July 29, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2018 I am going on a Baltic cruise with Holland and some of the port cities have more than one places to dock. How can I find out which place my ship will be? I am reading Rick Steves’ book about these cruises and want to be sure I know how to get into the city. Thanks in advance . mickrory Posted July 29, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2018 What I did was to go on the TripAdvisor forums and ask. Stockholm has about 6 terminals, well worth finding out if you're doing ports on your own Sent from my CUBOT MAGIC using Forums mobile app
colonialinnkeeper Posted July 29, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2018 Often I will google for the port schedules of the cities I will be visiting. It gives you the place, berth no., time, etc. I can also tell how many other ships are in that day, their times and sometimes how many passengers on each ship. We've used this information to plan itineraries.
Fouremco Posted July 29, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2018 Google "port authority [name of port city]". All will have a schedule indicating where your ship will be docked or anchored. There are websites such as http://ports.cruisett.com that provide information for all ports, but they aren't always as accurate as the port authority. catl331 Posted July 29, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 29, 2018 ... and want to be sure I know how to get into the city. I wouldn't worry about it too much. On our Baltic cruise whenever the tourist area was a long walk away there always were shuttles (at a nominal cost) provided by HAL or the port, or hop-on-hop-off buses, or taxis/ubers readily available.
