Travelcat2 Posted August 8, 2018 #26 Share Posted August 8, 2018 But it’s a good reminder to the veterans of this line why you stick with it! [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Good point!
newlondon Posted August 8, 2018 #27 Share Posted August 8, 2018 However, also missing is a string quartet playing in public spaces after dinner as on O. DW and I made a point to get to this 1+ hr concert every night on Nautica, which we have cruised twice.
GOARMY Posted August 9, 2018 #28 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Loved that photo of the equivalent of a mash pit around the pool. Oh, that would be kinda like most sea days on a mega ship. Or, those folks in various stages of dress (undress) were awaiting a "Crossing the International Date Line or Equator" ceremony. Regent still does these, which we avoid. It is certainly great to relive a day when crossing the International Date Line, West to East, particularly when that particular day was our wedding anniversary! This occurred several years ago. Staff presented us with a bonus cake at CR. No more "Neptune of the Seas" ceremonies, please, which include throwing Officers, Staff, and/or willing passengers into the pool. This would be one item I would like to see added to the do not repeat list. Just an old grouch. GOARMY!
Mystfan Posted August 30, 2018 #29 Share Posted August 30, 2018 I love this thread and I agree with all of it. Our first cruise was on a huge ship with all that nonsense. It took us 10 years to consider another cruise. We have been very happy with Regent.
orvil Posted September 3, 2018 #30 Share Posted September 3, 2018 I’d have to go with crowded pool decks like this claustrophobic scene: Z and TB Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk This is the stuff from which nightmares are created. Can you believe people pay money for this?
gnomie1 Posted September 3, 2018 #31 Share Posted September 3, 2018 This is the stuff from which nightmares are created. Can you believe people pay money for this? Many people who follow the Regent thread are blessed and fortunate in that they are able to afford to cruise on luxury lines - I can remember a time (and it really was not that many years ago) that I would have considered myself so lucky to be able to have any vacation on any cruise line. I know plenty of people who scrimp and save all year long in order to take a one week cruise out of New York/Bayonne, including friends of mine and I have joined them on numerous occasions. We all enjoy our cruise, maybe more so, the same way Regent passengers enjoy their cruise. gnomie :)
