Shared Transportation from Southhampton Port to London and back

We are embarking in La Harve and arrive in Southhampton on October 15th. We need transportation to the heart of London. Is there anyone out there who would want to share from Southhampton Port to London and back? Diane & Eileen

The easiest and cheapest way to London is on the train...a quick cab ride to the station from the Southampton docks.

If you're going up and down the same day, I would certainly get the train. It takes just over an hour to get to Waterloo. If there are traffic problems the same journey by road can take anything from 90 minutes to three hours (each way).

The train station is a 10 min walk from gate 101/2 (you're 102 on 15th Oct), don't bother with a cab unless raining / luggage etc. Also, depending on what your plans are in London, quite a lot of the West End is walkable from Waterloo if you're feeling fit!

WelshDoc, thank you. But we believe we need to go to Victoria Station, not Waterloo. We were going to take the "Heart of London Hop On Hop Off" bus type tour. We are afraid we wouldn't get back to the ship in time in case there were any delays on the train. That is why we thought to share a Shuttle with anyone it would guarantee the time going and coming back. Any suggetions?

The tour we are looking at is the Big Bus Hop On Hop Off Tour in London out of

Victoria Station. How long would it take via train to Victoria Station? We were told approximately 3 hours from

SouthHampton to Victoria Station.
