How long does it usually take Carnival to update your VIFP points after you complete a cruise? We will get off a cruise 9/16/18 [60>67 points] then go on a 14 day cruise on 11/4/18, hopefully with Platinum status.

Usually within a few days of the end of the cruise your account should be updated.

Within a few days.

If you will only have 67 points, you won't be platinum.

Just an FYI My own platinum experience.

 

I just got back from a B2B on the Vista.

 

A 6 day followed by an 8day. I was not due to be platinum until the 8 day but since the cruises were linked we had platinum privilege for the 6 day as well!!!!

 

We got platinum gifts and perks for both sailings,

Carnival's usual response is within 7 days, but in reality its a couple days after you return!

If you will only have 67 points, you won't be platinum.

 

If my math is correct they will hit 81 on the second, 14-day cruise, and thus will be platinum when they board that one.

The same thing happened to us back in 2013. We did a 7-day B2B with another 7-day, and received Platinum status at the start of 1st leg. Nice.

 

Our status had been updated a few days after we returned from our July 24th cruise.

If I had known about the B2B effect before I booked the Bermuda Cruise, I might have been tempted to go that route. It would have been much cheaper too, however, the B2B cruise would have had the same itinerary as the two previous cruises we had done. Better value for the increase in cost.
