Baynanno1 Posted August 30, 2018 #26 Share Posted August 30, 2018 We began cruising with Azamara in 2013 and have done a few cruises on Celebrity Constellation. We have passed our threescore years and ten and since we moved from another line we have made use of our two and four free nights, as well as having put our six free nights towards a Norwegian Fiords Cruise next year. No, we do not cruise in a suite, preferring a lower deck, midships. From another perspective, Azamara are giving us the free nights. They could insist on all points being accrued on Azamara.

What they are doing is incentivizing their customers to sail on other cruise lines that are not part of the RCCL family when they aren't sailing on Azamara. Unintended consequences of an awards program that isn't aligned with the overall goals of the group. Good for Azamara, maybe, but bad, potentially, for RCCL and Celebrity. Redtravel Posted August 31, 2018 #28 Share Posted August 31, 2018 Called Azamara requesting info on a cruise. As discover plus/elite plus I have never been upgraded or been allowed free nights. The rep told me that sometimes they will award free nights to very loyal Celebrity guests who cannot accrue 50% of sailing time on Azamara compared to Celebrity. She told me to write to Azamara. I wrote and got an email response that just reiterated the 50% must be on Azamara. I was also told that most recently I took more Celebrity cruises than Azamara. Azamara has far fewer ships than Celebrity. As a long time cruiser, I like to see new places. Now I am not sure that I want to book any cruise on Azamara. I also cruise often on other cruise lines.
