Have you checked reviews on tripadvisor? These will tell you a lot. Or a site like hotels.com where only those who booked can review.

They are all airport hotels. So I hope that their stay in Miami is short, or that they have a rental car.

Remember to add the cost of getting to the Port to their budget.

All those "airport" labelled properties are only recommended (I use that term very loosely here) if you are arriving late and immediately barricading yourself in the room for the night. Miami Springs especially should be avoided.

The Best Western Plus and NUVO Suites are well west/southwest of MIA in very dense suburban shopping areas. Which in your case puts them at the top of the list if looking for a meal or any travel sundries. The former has an airport shuttle, the latter does not. But from either you must figure $45-50 for a taxi, or $30-ish for Uber/Lyft, to get to PortMiami.

We've stayed at Ramada Miami near airport. Would I stay a week here? nope. But was perfect for our large group in February 2 years in a row for 1 night. Rooms are updated but if you want a nice, large room... spend a few extra bucks and get a king size with kitchenette, rooms are huge ( double rooms are really small and not as updated as the double kings) !!! Decent pool area to drink around at night. Small breakfast free. Resturant with bar attached to hotel so you don't have to leave property. And shuttle to port in the morning is 12$ And I think shuttle from Miami airport to hotel is free.
