crusing4fun Posted August 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2018 Haven't cruised from New Orleans in a while. What hotel do you stay in to wake up to that view of the ship in port? Just booked the Dream for September. Thank you
jgmpuma Posted August 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Hilton Riverside, but only the upper level rooms facing upriver.
Visigoth Posted September 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2018 The ships' view will be blocked by the Riverwalk Mall and the Convention Center. Even the top floors on the riverside of the Hilton will probably not give you much of a view.
JerseyGirlJen Posted October 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 6, 2018 I second Hilton Riverside. I got upgraded on check in to a river view high floor, and I had a good view of the port. Norwegian was just docking and the Dream must’ve come in first. I walked through the mall to Port. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare dctravel Posted October 22, 2018 #5 Share Posted October 22, 2018 Farther away, so the view is more limited, but my favorite view hotel in New Orleans is the Sheraton. Get a room up high facing the river and you will be able to see the ships past the Convention Center :).
Linda the Book Lover Posted December 2, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2018 Reading this it seems the River View rooms in the Hilton are not all the same and we may not get the best view. How are the other rooms?
ellieanne Posted December 6, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 6, 2018 The rooms in the Hilton Riverside are nice. I stayed in one for a week in January -- with a view of the parking garage. There are some places you go for views, hotels in New Orleans are not one of them. I really do not know any hotel that offers a guaranteed, unobstructed River view. If you want a view of the River from the Hilton Riverside, the best option is to walking through to the Food Court are at Outlet Collection at Riverwalk and head outside. We just decided on another hotel and your response was what I thought was the case.
