aquashores Posted August 22, 2018 Author #26 Share Posted August 22, 2018 How were the shows? What was the best part of having a suite? Sent from my iPad using Forums the shows were ok, the lead female singer was great though.. The main reason we book a suite is for Luminae
LA_CA_GAL Posted August 22, 2018 #27 Share Posted August 22, 2018 What was the best part of having a suite? Michael's club. Got to spend some time with Captain Alex there. Upon disembarkation, we were first off and escorted, which was great. We also got to do the bridge tour, which was a lot of fun. Only problem I had was Captain Alex wouldn't let me blow the horn. bubax4 Posted August 22, 2018 #28 Share Posted August 22, 2018 Am on the Summit in a sky suite at the end of January. Was wondering if it has a combination bath/shower and if so is it hard to get in and out.

Pretty much the same as the one we have at home.

I haven't measured, but the tub is noticeably deeper than a "standard" landbased bathtub. At first, when I read the comments on CC of people complaining about getting in/out, I thought they were overreacting, then one morning I gave a bit more thought to the difference in entering/exiting and realized that any mobility challenge would likely be a bit exacerbated...and in a wet marble room on the ocean, one can easily imagine that being pretty unpleasant. Ours too was a tub/shower combo. We are nimble and relatively young but I agree with your comments above.
bhughey Posted August 22, 2018 #32 Share Posted August 22, 2018 How was Luminae? It's been 3 years since we've sailed in a suite - I am hopeful the quality has not deteriorated.
Iamthesea Posted August 22, 2018 #33 Share Posted August 22, 2018 Luminae was wonderful in May! Probably the best Luminae experience that we have ever had. It was on the Eclipse, but our experience on the Summit almost 2 years ago was very good. ;)
George C Posted August 22, 2018 #34 Share Posted August 22, 2018 We were on in March service and food was excellent in luminae. Liked it so much we have sister ship booked for next year.
tinaincc Posted August 23, 2018 #35 Share Posted August 23, 2018 Did you have a beverage package? I wonder how the premium package works with Luminae? Are the wines that are paired or sugessted of highest quality? In a sky suite in March.

Are the wines that are paired or sugessted of highest quality? In a sky suite in March. Within the premium package there are quite a few nice selections. I also went for a few wines that were 10 to 20 upcharge when I wanted something really nice such as Caymus Cab or a Freemark Abbey Cab.
Shanker1 Posted August 23, 2018 #37 Share Posted August 23, 2018 Thanks for all the great information. We are sailing on the Summit Sept. 23. We are trying to set up a car service from Cape Liberty to NYC and are not in a hurry to leave the ship. Do you know what is the latest time we can disembark? Thanks in advance, Joe
