Hi, We went to Monte Carlo last week. We have 2 children 10 and 8. The tender was fine, kids loved it about a 15 minute ride. Monte Carlo itself is beautiful place, we didnt do any trips just walked around eating ice creams and the odd drink in a pub/cafe. It was 40 degrees so needed the drink :D

Yup, that's the beauty of Monaco - you can see most of it by foot.

There's the circuit to walk (if that's your thing) and plenty of window shopping.

The walk up to Monaco-Ville is steep, but not too bad. I believe they still allow visitors into the Palais Princier - but that might require booking (not sure).

I am visiting Monte Carlo next year with my children 16,14,11 and wondered if it’s worth doing a trip or just getting off and visiting the area plus how is it when everyone gets on the tenders thanks

The Aquarium is well worth a visit , it was founded by Jacque Cousteau. From here is just a short walk to the palace. Plenty of cafes and bars at the top.

When you get off the ship head to the sea wall on the left and walk to the car park where you can use escalators and lifts at the cinema to get to the old town by the Cathedral gardens, onto the changing of the guard at around 11.55am. Walk down the steps and head off to the casino, when you get to the tunnel there is a lift by the tobacconist which will save some steps and energy. On the way back you can always use the water taxi back to the tender

Last week we took our 8 year old son swimming at Stade Nautique Rainier III which is a swimming pool / lido just a 5 minute walk from the tender drop-off and easy to find. They have a slide and diving board both of which are well managed with staff in attendance when in use. It is quite large and there were plenty of sun loungers available (just make sure you ask as they are payable on top of the entrance fee). There are changing facilities, showers and a nice café bar with fairly priced food and drinks.

It was a very safe environment for our son and we had a lovely, relaxing time there.

All the best.

Damian
