Ep010835 Posted September 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2018 Will someone please help me understand exactly what is and is not included in the following. I've copied/pasted one of the bullet points off of the suite amenities page. Complimentary Lotus Spa®Thermal Suite accessI'm puzzled by the word "access". Clearly there are tons of services and products that are being sold in the spa that are definitely NOT complimentary. So why is this listed on the suite amenities page? Is there normally a charge just to enter the space so that additional products and services can be purchased? Doesn't seem much like a perk to me. moki'smommy Posted September 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2018 It is use of the "thermal suite;" essentially the same space that is called the "rainforest" or "Persian suite" on some other cruise lines. It is a series of steam rooms with different scents and intensities, and some heated lounge chairs. It does not exist on all Princess ships, so the perk is only valid on those ships that have it. I've found that I enjoy it on cruises to cold places and/or on winter cruises, but tend to not use it in warm places. It normally sells for $16 per day with "length of cruise" passes available for sale. It doesn't cost to enter the spa. It does cost to use the "thermal suite." NOTE--on most ships there is a complimentary sauna and/or steam room in the locker room.
fishywood Posted September 1, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2018 You have access to the Thermal Suite with complimentary use of the heated beds, steam rooms and saunas. Other spa services will still carry their normal charges. Non-suite passengers may only use the Thermal Suite if they purchase a cruise-long pass, or are given a pass for the day when they purchase a treatment. Yes, many of the Princess ships do have a free sauna near the Lap Pool that anyone can use. But you as a full suite passenger are "upgraded" to the ones in the Thermal Suite. And note that not all ships have a Thermal Suite. The ones that do are: Star, Diamond, Sapphire, Coral, Island, Caribbean, Crown, Emerald and Ruby. The footnotes to the list of suite perks does mention that access to The Enclave on Royal, Regal, Majestic, and Sky (when she launches next year) is not included.
