Tampa Cruise on Carnival Paradise. Immigration Question

Our family will be going on a cruise with Carnival leaving from Tampa, traveling to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. My husband is Brazilian but has a US Resident Card and of course we know to bring his passport and Residence Card. I have checked with both places we will port and looks like he doesn't have to have a visa. BUT, we are wanting to know the process when we return and disembark. What do we expect?

1.) At Tampa port, does immigration process for non US-citizens take place on board the ship or after you exit?

2.) If on the ship, will our whole family be able to go through the process and exit with him?

3.) If off the ship, same.. does US Residents and US Citizens go through the same line or are ALL non-citizens exit their own line?

Thank you for any information you might have in this area.

In Tampa, we found Customs/Immigration at the bottom of the escalators in the terminal. There were separate lines for US citizens and non-citizens.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thank you... It isn't a huge deal, but just wanted to know how to plan with the kids, etc. Thanks again!! And we are so excited. This is his and the kids first cruise... so can't wait to see their reactions!
