honeymooners11 Posted January 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2006 Hey all, New Itineraryfor Carnival and I am cruising on Elation in August of this year and wondering what to do in these ports of call. We are looking to do something through an individual vendor. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks KT
Liv4cruzin Posted January 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2006 If you will check the thread marked "Turks & Caicos" a little further down the page, you will find a few thoughts on Grand Turk. As for Half Moon Cay, IMHO it's the nicest private island experience of any cruise line. The beaches are beautiful w/ cabanas where you can get a massage, hammocks, a darling complex of pastel colored shops in which to shop. One can take an escorted nature walk, snorkel; there's all sorts of water sports equipment for rent. It's been a couple of years since I was there; so there's probably even more to do than before. I was told on my first visit there that Holland America Line (who leased & developed the island) buried pipes below the walking paths in which to flush cool water so the sand wouldn't burn your feet. I have no proof of this; but it is typical of the type of feature that Holland America Line would provide to pamper their guests. :)
WeRockChalkKU Posted February 1, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2006 Go to the Holland America website to see what all excursions are offered @ HMC. They now have horseback riding, snorkeling with stingrays and lots of other fun stuff. I assume that Carnival guests get access to the same excursions. Have fun - it's a wonderful day - your own piece of heaven!!!! (IMHO)
