nancyneptune Posted September 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2018 Had a chat with a friend yesterday to hear all about her recent mini cruise on Discovery. Some of the restaurants were not open. Too many people taking advantage of the drinks package. A few being sick and the poor hard working crew having to clean up after those inconsiderate people. Several arguments and a couple of fights. People ignoring the designated smoking areas, people smoking and vaping in all areas of the ship and being rude to any one who objected. All sorts of goings on in the lounges. She was disgusted. She is in her forties , loves cruising and loves a good time but said NEVER AGAIN. Accident waiting to happen !! Vitalsign Posted September 7, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2018 What was this mini cruise? Perhaps it was sold cheaply and people who had never cruised before were on - and usually go to Blackpool or Brighton!!
Rare dronnygirl Posted September 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2018 Was this the 80's themed cruise with Sarah Cox? It was very heavily discounted almost up to the last minute so couldn't have been selling too well. Shame as it looked like a nice short cruise

mtt Posted September 8, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 8, 2018 Was on this cruise for lots it was a total booze cruise, the glass house was closed as events were going off in there, the snack shack only opened at 11:30 except on debark day, but islands and the snack snack were open til about 03:00. We witnessed fights, apart from one night there was only 1 show, steel city nearly turned into a riot with all the women in audience

campolady Posted September 8, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 8, 2018 (edited) What a shame that some people have to spoil it for the majority of passengers. The short trip themed concept quite appealed to us and, had we not have to fly over to the UK/pay overnight accommodation pre and post cruise, we may well have booked as they were advertising it with a 'special offer' price when we were on Discovery in May; thank goodness we didn't! Just hope the party atmosphere planned for Spirits final sailing doesn't attract the same small minority of people and spoil what should be a celebration of good memories/chance to say goodbye to a special ship and crew. stephen@stoneyard.co.uk Posted September 9, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 9, 2018 Unbelievable I bet they don't do another - leave it to Celebrity I have booked for the Electric Nights 90s Cruise in August 2019. It is a chance to try the ship without having to take a week off work. Best wishes, Stephen. Sent from my iPad using Forums
