Doing the Doc Dance

Hi divadiverfla,I too live on the FL gulfcoast.

I did the Coral to the Panama Canal in 2004, and it was awesome. The Coral is a beautiful ship.

I hope you have the excursion available to you that is called "Ocean to Ocean" or something similar. If so, I hope you go on it, as it was the best way to see the entire Canal. After the ship traverses the locks into Gatun Lake, you transfer to a smaller ship that takes you the rest of the way through the Canal. The tour guides are excellent, and there is a running commentary as you travel to the Pacific. When you get to the Pacific, you dock and transfer to a bus to ride back across Panama to return to the Coral. It is an all-day excursion and a little costly, but worth every minute and every penny.

Have a wonderful cruise. I'd go again in a heartbeat!
