Relaxationspecialist Posted September 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Not big boozers. I have a 2-cappuccino-a-day habit and other than that we would have one cocktail and a glass of wine with dinner. Looking at Nieuw Statendam Amsterdam to St Petersburg and back, a 14-day trip. Would cost around $700 for this over Advantage fare, which is $300 over non refundable fare. Includes a meal at the Pinnacle Grill. Spouse does not eat meat but does eat fish. No idea how much cappuccino and alcohol would cost otherwise. Advice appreciated!
Bill B Posted September 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Two cappuccino, a cocktail and a glass of wine will cost no where near the price of the beverage package.
Relaxationspecialist Posted September 17, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Thanks! I should have clarified that’s per person.
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 17, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Even if it is included in your price -- not worth it. If the price you were quoted included the drink package, ask the price of the cruise without the drink package. It should be way lower.

Bill B Posted September 17, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Thanks! I should have clarified that’s per person. Okay then... four cappuccinos, two cocktails and two glasses of wine will cost no where near the price of the beverage package.
aotmc Posted September 17, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Question has been answered, but I thought I'd add individual drink prices so you can properly budget and compare... Cappuccinos - 12 oz are $2.50, 16 oz are $3.25 Cocktails- vary, but are around $9 per drink Glass of wine- vary, but I'd say are closer to $10 a glass (some more, some slightly less) Dinner at the Pinnacle- $35 per person. It does have fish options, and usually one vegetarian option. Hope this helps. Not exact calculations, but to give you an idea. Not big boozers. Relaxationspecialist Posted September 18, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted September 18, 2018 Wow, those are an eye-opener! In my mind I was extrapolating from NYC prices! Without the package I’ll have all the cappuccino and piña coladas I could dream of....;) Thanks so much.
crystalspin Posted September 18, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 18, 2018 The two Pinnacle dinners I would recommend are the Colorado Lamb and the Crab Legs. Note, I did not have either of them! but members of my family did. I had the ribeye and it was tasty, but fatty, and not in the "marbled" sense. Buy yourself OBC in the amount of say, half what the SBP would cost the two of you. If you manage to run over that, it won't be by much! and it might relieve you of second-guessing every cappucino purchase. ETA: the dinners in the MDR were very good, with lamb available several times in two weeks, and a crab-legs + crab-cakes extra available (at least on Gala nights?) for less that dinner at Pinnacle Grill. The service was actually better in the MDR, although the ambiance of PG is classier, like being in an European Study/Library. I'm not sure I would repeat PG if it weren't included in the Explore4 package...
