jdvmd Posted September 27, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2018 Looking at the Breakaway or the Getaway for a sailing in late October. Halloween falls in there. What can we expect as far as any kind of celebration? Do people dress up in costumes?
TZacek Posted September 27, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2018 Hey there! I'm on the same cruise. We looked it up and there is a Halloween party on Oct 31st so we are bringing costumes for sure! If you have children, there will also be trick or treating happening for them. I found all the information here: https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=1981 See ya on the ship! :)

Seminole1975 Posted September 27, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 27, 2018 Last year on the Getaway, some of the crew, including members of MDQ, dressed up and participated in a "haunted corridor" like a haunted house for passengers to walk thru. They had fun. They will most likely do something like this again this year.
Billzilla66 Posted September 27, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 27, 2018 I was going to pack my plastic orc sword in my luggage as part of my costume, but I discovered that the sword is about 2 feet longer than my luggage, and I have a feeling that they won't let me carry on board. A "haunted house" set up that you walked through in the conference room area by the theater. Very well attended, some families wore costumes. Something fun! Posted September 30, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 30, 2018 Forget the kids! Sign me up for adult Halloween candy fun. It should be adult trick or treat.
Something fun! Posted September 30, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 30, 2018 It seems like a creepy magician would be the perfect entertainment for the theater show.

But seriously, if we did, those kids would be going home with the whole chocolate factory. :')

There was a party on the pool deck with a lot of decorations and halloween themed snacks. And of course (get the flames ready) the obligatory group Thriller dance. havanadaydreaming Posted September 30, 2018 #16 Share Posted September 30, 2018 We were on Halloween cruise on the Escape a while back. There was a costume contest after dark in Spice area. They showed Beetlejuice on the big screen. I'd say about 10% of people wore costumes, but it was tons of fun interacting with those who did. Especially after a few adult sodas. My wife was Cruella de Ville. She looked dead on. I went as a homemade Goofy with big white mitts, floppy ears, doo rag, dog nose and proper colored clothing (used to be that character at WDW couple decades ago) and it was a huge hit. Cruisers really liked the fact I wouldn't speak or break character. Have fun!!!!

cruisinreunion Posted October 5, 2018 #20 Share Posted October 5, 2018 FYI-the kidscwent trick or treating to the different venues on board. Such as dining rooms, cruise next desk, shore excursion desk, etc. they all seemed to have a huge bag full by the end. Lots and lots of fun door decorations! I'm pretty sure they were referring to the actual characters - in movies and such.
SharkieQueen Posted October 5, 2018 #23 Share Posted October 5, 2018 We dressed up on the Epic - husband was wizard, I was a witch. Had a candy bucket for the kids onboard and also the crew, which went down well. Got changed after lunch and had a fun afternoon drinking by the pool, went to dinnner in costume and then on to the party at Spice H2O - and we were the overall winners!! Many people only dressed up for the party, and there were all kinds of different costumes - would definitely do it again as we had a blast
