Crusing&Fusing Posted October 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2018 We are buying drink packages for our guests cruising with us. Is there any difference in the Deluxe package on board than getting beforehand through the cruise planner?
George C Posted October 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2018 No there is only one package which is same if you pre buy or get it on the ship, in many cases, for most of my cruises it is on sale before hand , sometimes in low 40’s per day. crystalspin Posted October 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2018 I believe you will pay full price on the ship. However you can use OBC if you have it. Pre-cruise RCI practices "dynamic pricing" changing the price up or down according to obscure algorithms per sailing. If you buy now and watch your (and your guests') Cruise Personalizers, it is very easy to cancel the earlier reservation and book immediately the new lower price. I've done it several times for the beverage package and the VOOM internet, most recently obtaining a DBP+VOOM bundle I think I'm unlikely to better! tunisbridal Posted October 27, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2018 It is difficult when one person in the room doesn’t drink, but you still have to pay for a package
purdo Posted October 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted October 28, 2018 Were sailing on Ovation of the Seas in May 2019 and I've bought a drinks package for hubby and a refreshment package for myself. Couldn't buy it online had to phone RC direct.
TTraub1250 Posted October 28, 2018 #6 Share Posted October 28, 2018 Watch the cruise critic and the RCL website. Our drink package went from $56/p/d to $39/p/d back in Sept. We would not have bought it except for the reduced price. Just do not drink that much.
