Time For Dreaming Posted October 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2018 Have been trying to access Cruise Critic for days and cannot figure out what has been done to it. So excuse me if this ends up in the wrong place. Recently booked the R/T Los Angeles cruise to Alaska for September 17, 2019 on the Royal Princess to avoid flying. There are 3 days At Sea going to Alaska and 2 days at Sea returning. Question: Between Glacier Bay and Victoria is also At Sea. Is this At Sea Day in the Inside Passage? Or do we exit the Inside Passage, go to Victoria and then head home? Thank you.

fishywood Posted October 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2018 If you look at the sketch of the routing for this voyage https://www.princess.com/find/cruiseDetails.do?voyageCode=1935 ...it shows the ship does not traverse the Inside Passage between Vancouver Island and the British Columbia coast either going up north or when returning southbound. Only the open jaw Vancouver/Whittier sailings do.
wallyj Posted October 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2018 FYI, did you notice the 12 day roundtrip LA to Alaska is also being offered twice in April 2019. 4/23 on the Ruby and 4/27 on the Star? Many Princess past passengers are getting reduced pricing for the 4/23 sailing and double the usual 3 for free OBC. Oh yeah, these two sailings qualify for 3 for free, so in addition to some OBC, which is now $150 minimum each, free gratuities too and upgrade to next highest level in the category booked, for example interior cat IF to IB are all the same price. Login to your princess account and pull up cruise to see if you are getting the extra OBC and discount on 4/23 sailing. Sale stated to expire 10/20/2018 in email many received on 10/06. I believe the email stated some other Alaska cruises were also getting the double 3 for free OBC, but your post was regarding the roundtrip LA sailing. The cruise is advertised as Inside Passage with Glacier Bay but I guess the 7 Days at Sea are 7 days being tossed around in the Pacific Ocean. We've done a R/T Vancouver 7-night Alaska cruise that started up the Inside Passage and back through it again. So I had been trying to figure how where in the Inside Passage the Royal would would be in. Thank you for your help.
