Hi Trent just wanted to know if there's been any major changes at the Holiday Inn Ft.Lauderdale beach? We head down in 3 weeks I know it's not the best hotel but I think you said the sheets are clean and the water is hot which is all I need for the 2 days we have lots of people to meet while there so we won't be at the hotel much. We are also seeing King Tut exhibit while there.

 

Also can you recommend a good seafood place in lauderdale besides the 15th street fisherieswe've been there and want to try something new.

 

We have the Hyatt booked for post cruise.

Nothing new or different at the Holiday Inn on the beach. They seem to still be working on hurricane damage to the roof, but it's open and operating. Yes, it was clean enough and fine for a night as long as you're not expecting a Ritz-Carlton. ;)

Rustic Inn is a local institution and favorite of locals. There's usually a wait to get in, and it's well worth waiting for. It's just west of FLL airport, about a 20-25 minute drive or so from your hotel... http://www.rusticinn.com/

When we were at the HIEX Convention Center the next morning (12/27/05), 2 semi's pulled up and they started unloading new box springs and mattresses for the hotel. When we asked they informed us they were replacing all of them.

That's great! The mattresses seemed to be the only complaint I've ever heard about that Holiday Inn Express, but that's such a subjective thing.
