FOPMan Posted October 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2018 What temperature are the public rooms on the Koningsdam usually kept at on a Caribbean cruise? Wer’re trying to determine what jackets, sweaters, etc. are necessary (we’re from a warmer part of the world and like it around 76 degrees). HUNKY Posted October 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2018 While the outside temp will be in the high 70's or low 80's the public rooms will be nice and cool probably 68-70.
sevenseasnomad Posted October 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2018 (edited) I've sailed on every HA ship except for two. The K was similar to the other ships in that all the public rooms, especially the MDR, were cool to cold. You won't be sorry if you wear a wrap/jacket in the evenings. During the day, I usually wear some type of long sleeved lightweight jacket, such as a jean jacket that goes well with casual daytime outfits. After dark, the outside decks are downright chilly, even in the Caribbean. Enjoy your cruise on the K. She's a lovely ship, despite having a narrow promenade deck. Rare POA1 Posted October 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2018 Bring something to layer. Worst case scenario is that you can drape it over your chair. If you like 76°F, you may find it chilly on some places.
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2018 Temperatures can vary all over the ship. We have been on ships where the Explorer's Lounge was freezing cold and when we got to the Crow's Nest it was hot. I take clothes that I can dress in layers. Walfam Posted October 21, 2018 #6 Share Posted October 21, 2018 (edited) The cruise ships I've been on were quite cold onboard. Everywhere, including MDR. Best to dress in layers. Years ago hubby asked if I was bringing shorts to wear ~onboard~ for our Alaska cruise. Had not considered that, so I threw a pair into the suitcase. Massive heatwave in Alaska that summer, so I wore those shorts on shore every day, every port, and changed into pants & sweater once back on the ship. YMMV Edited October 21, 2018 by Walfam
Rare Gail & Marty sailing away Posted October 21, 2018 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2018 A lot depends on the ocean water temperature.
hexdragon Posted October 22, 2018 #8 Share Posted October 22, 2018 Cruise ships tend to keep the public areas cool. I heard that it help retard the transmission of the noravirus (how do you spell that anyway????)
