Best parking advice for NCL cruise

I am driving in from FLL and looking for parking advice. I am not thrilled at the idea of driving around the port to be honest but have a rental and need to park somewhere. Debating if its easier/better to park right at the port(even though it costs more closer to ship) or better to save some money and park offsite?

Looking for recommendations/experience for both......I haven't cruised NCL before so not sure about the parking and rates for them.......

Do you have reasons for not returning the rental before the cruise (from Port Everglades I assume)?

Sometimes folks find it cheaper to keep a longer return rental than two short one-ways. True in your case?
