New to Premier Cruising

I read all the perks that come with premiere cruising and I am curious about how you obtain your complimentary drink card? Does it come to your room like the rest of the “mail” we get or is it obtained when you first go to the casino?

It’ll be in your room. There will be a second drinks on us card for the person you’re sailing with too.

It wasn't in my room but the hostess came by with it while I was at a machine and it had already been programmed in so didn't really need. Once you order a drink they check the machine for your folio # and that tells them.

On our Premier in Sept it was in our room in a black gift bag with lanyards and a schedule of drawings/events.

(Snacks & drinks were passed by wait staff walking around.  We got quicker drink service by ordering at the bar.)

10:30 am – Snowball Raffle

12:00 pm to 3:00 pm – Fireball Raffle*

4:00 pm – Matilda the Cash Cow

11:00 pm – Lucky Card Draw

 

Tuesday, 9/11 – Fun Day @ Sea

10:30 am – Snowball Raffle

12:00 pm to 3:00 pm – Fireball Raffle*

4:00 pm – Matilda the Cash Cow

10:00 pm – Midnight – Hot Seat Promotion*

 

Wednesday, 9/12 – Montego Bay

8:00 pm – Snowball Raffle

11:00 pm – Fill my Bag

 

Thursday, 9/13 – Grand Cayman

5:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Dodge the Bull

(2000 slot points or comparable table play required to enter.)

12:30 pm to 3:30 pm – Fireball Raffle*

4:00 pm Snowball Raffle

11:00 pm – Free Cruise Raffle Drawing*

 

*Events open to everyone in the Casino.  Usually you get 1 entry per 100 points earned.

 

Gifts: On embarkation there was a bag in the room with this schedule for the week and our drink cards.

Throughout the week we also received: blue plastic drink cups, bottle of champagne, cookies & a box of chocolates.  The largest/best gift is supposed to be delivered on the last night be we did not get anything!  We also had quite a few people that have done many Premier sailings ask if we got a gift the last night as they did not either.  They were also disappointed in this Premier sailing saying that usually the hosts offered free dinners at the steakhouse and/or Italian Restaurant, Spa services, etc. and this time nothing was offered.  This was our first Premier and we were not too impressed.  We will probably try another to see if this one was just an off one, it did have over 380 Premier guests so not sure if that was the problem.

Correct, you don't need the card but if you display it, the drink staff will approach you more often.

We just booked our first premier cruise also!!  ours is on the Horizon at the end of March.   Mom got this one (I got squat  LOL),  So she gets 1000 in cash, but we both get the drink cards--that's cool.   

 

I cant wait to see what she experiences with all the drawings and stuff.  She was very excited about it all.

It may not be in cash.  Last two Premiers, they would only do Funplay credits.

That's ok...Mom will be spending it all in the casino either way LOL.    I say cash only because she wont have to bring any of her own money now.   She normally brings a thousand...so this was perfect.

I hope you both have a fantastic cruise! I’m just off a Premier Plus sailing on Horizon today - what a great trip! I can’t say enough good things about the crew everywhere on the ship. And winning around $1400 in various drawings didn’t hurt either! 😂

Oops - hit ‘submit’ too soon! What I wanted to add was just to make sure you’re in the casino for the drawings - even if you just pop your head in. So many names were called this week for hundreds of dollars and the winners weren’t there.

Good info!!   How did you like the horizon?  This will be our first time on a newer ship than the breeze.   Excited to see what this has to offer

I was pleasantly surprised with Horizon - I really loved her! She might be my favorite Carnival ship, or at least tied with the tiny Holiday. It’s been years since I’ve been on a newer Carnival ship (the last new-ish one was Conquest back in the early 2000’s). A lot of people on board mentioned that they liked Breeze and Vista better, but I can’t imagine what could be better. Guess I’ll have to sail on Breeze or Vista to find out. 😂

I have been on three premiers and never received dinner in the steakhouse but I'm not the biggest high roller. Expect a much more crowded and smoky casino. Looking forward to an ultra.

I got the December 4th Ultra invitation - found it in my inbox today! Looking forward to giving one a shot, but I’m not looking forward to the crowds from what I hear. Only 50 Premier Plus guests on this last cruise, so it was nice!

Explain please the difference between premier and premier plus. I've been on three premiers but never heard of the plus.

As far as I could tell, the premier plus was very similar to a premier, but there were only 50 invited guests. The casino was much less crowded, and your odds of winning a drawing were much higher. The last premier I was on, the casino was insanely crowded - finding an open slot machine was challenging at best. The premier plus lent itself to much more personalized attention from the hosts, and was just all around more enjoyable!
