Quick Help Please! 9A For 3?

Catrin

Recommended Posts

Good morning everyone!

It looks like a couple of 9A's have opened up on our upcoming cruise.... (they must have been upgraded to 11 or 12s)...

Anyway.. My husband would LOVE one of these! My question is... has anyone stayed in a 9A with THREE people? They all list just the normal twin/king beds.. nothing else.

Right now, we have 2 cabins booked. A balcony for 3, and an inside for 2. I could change the inside to 3... but I don't want my mom to be stuck with BOTH kids all week. Will the make up the couch into a bed?

Any suggestions? Is it worth it?
Advice and Experiences Please!
Thank you!
Cathy

You could use a booking engine and pretend you are booking a cruise for three people on your sail date, and see if any 9A cabins are available for 3 that way.

My TA told me that a 9A is only available for two people. I believe that the sofa does NOT convert to a bed. We tried to book a 9A for the Glory in Sept. for the three of us, but no go!

If the cabin is not actually labeled as a triple, they will not allow you to have three in the cabin. My friends and I have tried this several times, they don't budge. They will say that the couch doesn't convert, but I honestly think that most, if not all, of the couches on the ship convert.

We had 9A 6461 on the Victory in October. It was classified as a triple then (not sure if it still is) with the third person on a rollaway. Since our third person was only 3 years old, we had the cabin steward make the loveseat/sofa into a bed for him. Our fourth person (toddler) had to be booked in my parents room and then we just rolled her crib into our room. Keep in mind that the sofas in these particular rooms (along with the L-shaped 8As immediately beside them) are really only loveseat length, shorter than the usual 8A sofa. The loveseat was great for a child (probably up to age 10-12), but it was too small for an adult. Therefore, if your child is older, you would need a rollaway in the 9A rooms. You can see some photos of this room and the loveseat bed on the link below, Two Little Sailors. Hope this helps...

On the Conquest class ships they don't allow rollaways and so the 9A's are only available for double occupancy.

Book the 9A with you and your husband. Rebook the inside with the 3 others.
Im sure your kids can take turns sleeping on the sofa. jsut ask for extra balnkets and whatnots.

Hey there everyone..
Thanks for the advice.. Here is a follow up....

I tried to take our cabin for 3 (8B) and upgrade to the 9A as a double.. and change the 4D to a 3 person cabin.

BUT>>> That required a total rebooking, and since it was in the penalty phase, they wouldn't do it.

SO>> Looks like the 9A isn't in our cards this time.. but maybe next time!
.. and I am still dreaming of the 11!
