Matlily Posted November 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2018 Does anyone know a reasonable way to get to Timothy Hill to see the scenic views? Anyone know how long its takes to get from the Cruise port and back in a cab and the costs? Is it possible to do this and still do a beach somewhere on the way back to the ship? Thank you in advance for any information you may have.
pghsteelerfan Posted November 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2018 (edited) On our last visit to St. Kitts (2015) we stopped at Timothy Hill on the way to the beach but many also stop on the return trip from the beaches. Two of the beaches I know of, South Friars Bay and Cockleshell Beach, are both on the other side of Timothy Hill from the cruise port, so you go over it on the way to those beaches. We just took a taxi and asked him to stop at Timothy Hill on the way to the beach and he was happy to do that for us. There was no extra charge since it was on the way. We went to the Shipwreck Beach Bar/Grille section of South Friars (Carambola Beach Club is also on S. Friars). The cab ride was $4.00 per person, each way. Since that was 3 years ago, I don't know if those prices have gone up or not. It's probably about 10 minutes to get to Timothy Hill and another 5 minutes from Timothy Hill to South Friars Bay (Shipwreck or Carambola). Cockleshell Beach is the farthest and it takes about a half hour to get there. We went to Cockleshell Beach in 2013 and cab fare was $28 per cab each way OR if 4 or more people, $7.00 per person, each way. Those rates were the same when we were there in 2015. We opted for South Friars on our second visit to see something different. Edited November 28, 2018 by pghsteelerfan
