snowbegone Posted January 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2006 We are first time cruisers and nervous. We are going on Star Princess March 12. Our room is at the front of the ship. There didn't seem to be much choice. Better to be on the sea than home in the snow. Does any one know about rooms at the front? chrysalis Posted January 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2006 the cabins closer to the front are just fine, except that the closer you are to the bow, the more of the ship's movement you might feel...and depending on what deck you are, you might hear the bow thrusters when coming into a port.....all part of the experience, I say! enjoy your cruise.... I'm not sure how far forward your cabin is but the Star is a similar ship in it's layout. We do not have any issues with motion - so that wasn't a problem for us at all. The cabin was very quiet too. LeeW Posted January 15, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 15, 2006 We were 3 rooms from the bridge on the A deck on Coral and loved it. Did get a bit of spray on the balcony even that high. Actually seemed quieter than rear on Carribean Princess - thrusters there were very noisy every time we entered the ports. Motion was about like a hammock in a light breeze even when we had 3' waves in the swimming pool. No snow here in Denver, just 65 degrees, but would still rather be cruising! snowbegone Posted January 15, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted January 15, 2006 Thanks for quick response. This site is great. Our room is on the emerald deck and I think stairs come up near us. Can't quite see from deck diagrams. Room is E121.
