Advice for 4pm flight out of FLL

Normally I fly into and out of MIA with a late return flight. I usually rent a car for the day when we get back and check out some spots around Miami.

 

However, on my next cruise out of POM, my group and I will be flying out of FLL with a 4pm flight. Because of this awkward time, are we better off taking the airport transfer and spending 5+ hours there or taking an Uber to somewhere in Miami to hang out and grab lunch for a couple of hours?

Luggage Lounge in South Beach will store your bags for a fee while you explore SB - people watching, boozy brunch, beach, etc.

 

There is also luggage storage for a fee available at FLL - then you could explore Las Olas, lunch, ride the water taxi, etc.

 

Your cruise line will offer excursions that store your bags on the bus and wind up at FLL about 1:00 - everglades tours, etc.
