Mexico Riviera is still OK - December 2018

I just cruised the Mexico Riviera itinerary and found all ports to be fine.   No problems with crime or drug wars.  This was my fourth time so I have good sense what is normal for these ports.  I felt sorry for the people hiding in the walled Mazatlan port as they really missed out on visiting a nice city.  Many of the local USA and Canadian "expat" residents volunteered their time as tourist guides in the old town district of Mazatlan, and there were several police officers on duty.  Cabo and PV were fine as usual.

 

The weather down in Mexico was wonderful, even when compared to my home city of San Diego!

This has been our experience in PV  and in the Cancun/Puerto Morales/Playa areas for each of the past four or five years.  So much so that we are thinking of renting for a month in both areas next winter.

We also just returned from the Eurodam Mexican Riveria cruise, and felt very safe in port.  All the locals we dealt with were very pleasant.  Even the people trying to sell us stuff were less aggressive than we have dealt with in the past.

Eurodam.  This is our easiest (and most economical) vacation as we live in San Diego.
