1964IceCreamLady Posted December 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 25, 2018 (edited) We are leaving St Thomas so I don’t have much time and can’t respond until this weekend. 🙂 My husband left the ship and returned with fishing gear. He came back aboard to get my son. When they tried to disembark again, they were told their gear was prohibited. The security guys tried to confiscate the gear but my husband out- talked them. They were adament that fishing stuff stuff is prohibited. But nothing in FAQ or Know Before You Go. went to ship’s services who said any sharp object is prohibited. Have you seen a fly fishing hook? A fork from the Lido is more dangerous. My husband’s plan to fish HMC may be dashed. Edited December 25, 2018 by 1964IceCreamLady

The fish are small and they are few so leave the little ones safe 😉 It's an eco friendly environment. I don't think fishing is allowed there IIRC. Rare Copper10-8 Posted December 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 25, 2018 Kazu is correct; there is no private fishing on HMC except for the deep sea fishing shorex on the Captain Morgan boat (and I'm not sure that excursion is still being sold) As far as fishing poles/fishing gear, they are not on HAL's prohibited items list however, looks like they are being prohibited under the "catch all" section
