Santa Barbara afternoon excursions--questions

I'm going on the Ruby Princess with my family in February. We are thinking about taking an early afternoon excursion but wondered if we can get on an earlier tender instead of waiting for our excursion. Can we get our tickets/stickers that morning? Do you have to be on the tender with the rest of the group, or can you just meet everyone else where the tour starts in town?

Thanks!

Afternoon tours at tender ports usually have the meeting place on shore, not on the ship.  So yes, you can take an earlier tender, in fact you should to make sure you are at the pier meeting place on time.  Your excursion tickets will state where and when to meet.
