CruisingLover Posted December 30, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2018 What is the dress code for dinners on Empress? I think I read there are no formal nights, which is fine. But, for dinners, is it dress casual? Meaning women wear sundresses, nice pants and men wear dress pants with polos or button up?
Biker19 Posted December 30, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2018 There are formal nights on the longer sailings, but the dress suggestions are not enforced.
BekkaW Posted December 31, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2018 WHat you described is absolutely fine. On our 7 night there was 1 formal and also 1 ‘dress to impress’ night

Yes, recent reports indicate that on longer sailings ( which started in the past few months) there are formal nights - not clear where the line is drawn but I think at least two CC threads mentioned formal nights on 7 day sailings. LB_NJ Posted December 31, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 31, 2018 This is from the current RCL website FAQ: "Formal Night will not be offered on any of the currently scheduled Empress of the Seas sailings."

As mentioned, that has been contradicted by reports from the ship. RCI's web site is one of the last to be updated with current info.

Based on the website not sure how many if anyone will show up with formal attire.

FYI, here the thread with the formal night info:

Not for certain, but I would guess on such a length sailing, you'll have one formal night.
