MississippiMom Posted January 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2019 The Carnival website states that the Sports Bar on Glory is for all ages, but you must be 21 to drink alcoholic beverages. Is that accurate or a typo? I really am hoping that my ten year old nephew will be able to watch some college basketball games there, when our multigenerational family cruises over Spring Break. I think that he is NOT going to be very interested in the kids’ club, although his two younger brothers will love spending time there. But if he can catch some sporting events in the TVs with his dad, or an older cousin, I think he would be VERY happy.
PhillyFan33579 Posted January 6, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2019 Yes kids can watch sports in the sports bar as long as you don’t mind them potentially hearing a lot of cursing. It got pretty bad on Miracle two weeks ago with Steelers fans not being happy during their game against the Saints.
Rare Banditswife Posted January 6, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2019 We were on the Glory in Nov 2018. Yes I remember seeing younger than 21 people in there. Glory's sports bar is right next to the casino, so expect smoke to drift in there & noise from the slots. I am sure your nephew will be fine. Rare KmomChicago Posted January 6, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2019 Please be sure to have all the children attend the first night's activities at the kids' club, even if they don't think they want to. Little tribes tend to form this first evening and then they stay together and coordinate their movements for the rest of the cruise. It could be the difference for him between deciding he likes the club or not. Once the groups are established it seems to be harder to get into a group as you are now an outsider or 3rd wheel. Basically it's like the kids making friends at summer camp - sometimes they then stay in touch for years, other times they don't really click with anyone. There is quite a cross section of humanity on these ships so even shy kids who don't make friends easily might be pleasantly surprised to find a few kindred spirits. Obviously after that first night, if he wants to hang with the grownups there is no problem as there are few places aboard Carnival vessels that prohibit kiddos (casino and serenity deck). MississippiMom Posted January 6, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted January 6, 2019 Thank you so much for the replies! This particular nephew is very introverted, but I will try to encourage his parents to take him to that first kid’s club event. Maybe he will find another child who will play chess with him, or who might sit near him and watch a sports game.
travelling_txgal Posted January 8, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2019 Yep. It's for all ages. We took our kids with us and enjoyed the NBA Finals last year. Plan to do the same this year for the Super Bowl. The sports bar is more BWW, less Bombshells. 😂
auburneyes Posted January 8, 2019 #7 Share Posted January 8, 2019 We were on the Vista 2 weeks ago and the only rule was that anyone under 21 cannot sit at the actual bar. They can sit on the table tops and in the booths though.
