Casino on the majestic

Dh wants to check out the casino when we sail in March. The ship will be sailing in Australia and New Zealand, what kind of currency  will the slot machines take?

Australian funds.  We had OBC and the cashier had up pick a pin # to use with our stateroom card.  Whatever we won was transferred to our casino acct.  The next to the last day I cashed out in the casino as I needed cash for our land portion of our trip.

Since most, if not all, slot machines are cashless (you use your key card) there is no need for cash. They pay back to your card in whatever currency that is being used on the ship. As noted above, for your cruise that will be in AUD.

I’m in charge of a slot tournament on the Majestic in March. Any chance of non Auzzies in our tournament we will have to get $15 Aud from our American $. Any other suggestions appreciated.

This will be new for us, we have always used U S $ in the slot machines on cruises. If we have 100 $ in obc from a credit card will we have 100 AUS $ or is the exchange rate figured in?

 i will be interested to see how this works for you. On past cruises from Australia US $ were converted to AUD$ at a rate of about 1US = 1.25 AUD. Rate could change from cruise to cruise but stayed fairly consistent. We have a couple of upcoming cruises (March) and as of this moment all OBC, normally issued in US$ is showing as AUD on a  one to one basis in our cruise personalizer. Our daughter and family just returned from a similar cruise and they found their OBC to be one to one and spent considerable amount of time at front desk and Captains Circle Hostess trying to get an understanding of the reasoning to no avail. I am  not sure if they had any OBC other than FCC or Military credit but they were frustrated.

We just cruised on the Majestic and I purchased casino credits ahead of time in US dollars.  When I would cash in $100 voucher I would get 137 AUD.

I was in charge of our slot pull on the Majestic and we had many Americans.  Everyone brought AUD.  I do have to warn you that all of the slot machines on the Majestic are penny machines that originally were in US dollars so they played strange amounts like 3.42 AUD per spin.  I had a lot of trouble finding a machine that would play $3 per pull which is what I like to do for slot pulls.  The casino host was a big help helping me select a machine, assigned an employee to assist and provided gifts for winners.

We are on the Mar 2nd cruise, which one are you on?  It would be frustrating, ours is only $100 U S but would still like my full $100. Thanks for the reply on what to expect.

WE start on March 13 and then stay aboard for March 26- I will be interested in hearing how our  experience goes
