Skagway Glacier Point Wilderness Safari question

Has anyone done this trip recently (through the cruise ship, not independently)?  I'm trying to find out how many people they generally take.  I would normally do an independent excursion (because they are usually smaller groups), but we have $500 of OBC that I'm trying to burn (our gratuities, drinks, and transfers are already included as part of a promotion).

The general description for this tour is:

  • Total number of steps:3 Notes
  • Tide conditions can make ramp to dock very steep, guests with limited mobility not recommended.

We did this and loved it! The independent group came with the cruise group, so it won't matter who you book with. I'll attach a picture of the boats coming into land, when they came to pick us up. But we had about I'd guess maybe 25 people on ours. It was really a great time, loved the guides, got to walk up to the glacier, and just had fun!!

You can see the size of the boats, there were 2 of them, so I guess we had like 50 people total. Us on the glacier, our son in the canoe, the beautiful landscape, and some wildlife on the way back. I highly recommend it!

We did this tour at the beginning September 2018, and really enjoyed it.  To confirm the above review, it doesn't matter whether or not you book with the cruise company, you'll be with people from other cruises and who booked independently as well.  (By the way, we booked through the cruise company, found it for less on line, and the cruise company refunded us 110% of the difference.)

I, too, thought we had about 25 people, but then when I think hard about it, it must have been closer to 50.  I guess that speaks to the guides giving it a more personalized feeling.  The guides made the excursion a lot of fun--they were enjoying themselves as much as we were.  We saw a lot of glaciers on our cruise, but being able to walk around at the glacier in such a remote location really added to our Alaska experience.
